Frequently Asked Questions
Q) Have the puppies had their shots?
A) They have all had at least their first set of shots and have been dewormed. Some may have had their second or even third shots depending on their age. We include a shot record with all puppies we sell.
Q) Can I pick my puppy up earlier?
A) We do not re-home the puppies until they are 8-10 weeks old, depending on each individual puppy. While other breeders may re-home at 7 weeks, this extra week provides your new puppy with valuable socialization skills that it otherwise would not get, such as less sharp biting (as the mother and siblings will learn to establish what is acceptable and what is painful), and good table manners.
Q) What do you require for a deposit to hold a puppy?
A) 50% of the price of the dog.
Q) I took the new puppy home and realized I can't take care of it. Can I bring it back for a refund?
A) No, we do not give cash refunds. We do, however, require that should during the puppy's lifetime you realize you cannot take care of it, that you contact us. In no case should the puppy go to a shelter or be abandoned. Please see the contract for further details.
Q) Where are you located?
A) In Pflugerville, Tx.
Q) What kind of food do you feed your dogs?
A) They are currently on Science Diet, which was recommended by our veterinarian. We will provide a small bag of food so that you can adjust the puppy to whatever brand you prefer. To do so, mix 3 measures of the old food to 1 measure of the new food on the first day, on the second day 2/2, and on the third day 1/3 until the puppy has adjusted to the new food.
Q) Do you guarantee their health?
A) We only guarantee against life threatening illnesses and genetic disorders. If, within five days of purchase, the dog is diagnosed by a licensed veterinarian to have a life threatening illness it can be returned for a replacement dog. Please refer to the contract for details.
Q) Are your dogs registered?
A) Our dogs are registered with the American Kennel Club (AKC). We highly recommend that you do the same as the AKC provides valuable information about raising your new puppy. Their website is http://www.akc.org
